Description
A small ironbark tree unique to the Palmer River region of Cape York Peninsula, North Queensland, Eucalyptus staigeriana (Lemon-scented Ironbark) is easily distinguished from all other ironbarks by the strong smell of lemon in its crushed leaves. The essential oil contains a range components, most significantly limonene, citral (neral and geranial), nerol and geraniol and their esters and methyl geranate. This wonderfully complex essential oil has a distinctive fruity-lemon fragrance with rosemary-like backnotes and finds favour in perfumery, personal care, aromatherapy and flavouring.
